When I was young man and severely disillusioned with life, I sought after meaning and purpose through money, music, art, sex, religion, alcohol, drugs, pleasure, education, and social acceptance without much success. All I ended up being was frustrated, lost, cold and alone. Then, I picked up a pen and started writing in my journal. Somehow, the world unfolded before me and started to make sense. It was then that I first realized that I, too, wished to see if I could develop as a writer and that combined with my love for movies and voila! Thus began my journey into screenwriting.

Ultimately, our consciousness lies in between two great unknowns, before birth and after death. In about 2-3 billion years, hydrogen will run out of the sun, and it will begin the phases of star death. Luckily, this existential angst of oblivion does not need to render us useless idiots in a nihilistic nightmare; we have developed the use of story. In order to tell stories that matter and entertain, I have taken it upon myself to cull together a sampling of the film and screenwriting podcasts in order to gauge their usefulness in story development.

The entertainment industry within the confines of Film and TV is a relatively newly developed art form in the great epic of human history. This beautiful and stunningly powerful medium attracts some of the worlds most creative artists where they hope they can make a living. Sifting through the precarious landscape of the Hollywood machine is no easy task. Like anything worth while, it takes time, energy, commitment, consistency, and artistic integrity. This is a starting point for those who are called to the path.
